My husband, Elmer, and I have been enjoying the Rock Island Cafe experience for several years. We often visited Rock Island Cafe when it was upstairs of King's Village. Then they moved to the present location, which is larger, with much more to offer
Upon entering, you are drawn back to the 50's. First you see the soda fountain, and friendly, smiling workers to welcome you. Rock Island Cafe is family owned, and the family is there to greet you with smiles and sincere Alohas. I am always drawn to the Elvis and Lucy items, but Betty Boop is there in full force, as well as so many other collectibles. The restaurant and bar in the back is the place to relax, enjoy the food, drinks, and a chance to view the many exciting displays on the walls.
Waitresses are dressed in 50's styles and when they jump up on the stage and start their cute song and dance.....everyone is grinning from ear to ear as they "bop" to the music. The menu is so much fun to read, with items named after Elvis and other celebrities. Prices are comparable to other places in Waikiki.....so for fun, 50's experience, great shopping, and excellent food and drinks.....the Rock Island Cafe is our choice .....has been for years.....and will be for years to come. Rock Island Cafe......you have the ALOHA SPIRIT.
